There's nothing extraordinary about dropline, other than the easy install. You can get the same desktop on Debian with little hassle, you know MS fonts + industrial themes (IE: Industrial, Gorilla, Northside). As for rpm based systems well ...... that's a different beast alltogether.

    http://www.dropline.net

It's GNOME edited specifically for Slackware.. so i don't think it'd work for SuSE.

just for the record, Suse 9.1 has Gnome 2.4 with some Ximian patches, but not 2.6

edit: and MDK 10 also has Gnome 2.4 instead of 2.6

but oh well, except for the spatial nautilus and the new file selection dialog there aren't any really noticable changes between 2.4 and 2.6 anyway... except that it got even slower

Actually, yes you are right, but updating is a snap.

Not without a bit of work. If you wanted, I suppose you could build rpms out of it, but that is something more than even I would dare venture into.

As aforementioned, it is a GNOME for Slack.

if you want non-official gnome builds for Suse you can get them from http://www.usr-local-bin.org/

I've heard rumours that no matter what route you go with suse, you're going to have a substandard gnome install.
