nwn and patch.key
hi all!
well, i've been trying to install nwn on my linux-laptop and i got as far as copying(almost) the files from my stationary windows-machine....
the thing is:
i've go a fully paid-for legitimate installation of nwn+hotu+sou on my wintows-can.
and in the instructions for installing nwn on linux it says:
-copy some files from a windows-installaton or dl this 1.2gig file of the net
-so, of course i dl off the ftp on my windows-machine
so here's the problem:
-it tells me to dl some files and one of the files is the patch.key -file
I DON*T HAVE ONE!!!!
and the ./fixinstall skript demands it! -
-any ideas? -had the same problem?

Re:nwn and patch.key
By chanchave you tried doing the install the following way :
1) Get the data tarball (the 1.something GB file)
2) Install the 1.29 patch
3) Upgrade to SOU
4) Upgrade to HOTU
5) Update to the latest HOTU Patch level.

The patch.key isn't used when you have expansions. Yes, the instructions aren't very good. You can confirm this for yourself, read on how to install expansions from the nwn site, one of the files it tells you to delete is patch.key.

Re:nwn and patch.key
I just reinstalled via biowares instructions and used ravage's horu, sou installers. Then I used the latest patches to get up to date.
