how to delete profile

is there any way to delete profile for the root user so that next time I login to X I've got new settings, toolbars, etc....

you really shouldn't be using X as root, but this applies to normal users as well:

rm -rf ~/.kde

or ~/.gnome or whatever it is you are using. ls -A ~ will show all your hidden files, one of those will be settings for your wm/de. Delete it and it's back to defaults.
