I'm considering dropping common IM services for one thing and one thing only.. jerks like the following:

I keep my IM open so everyone can talk to me, it useful for me since I'm often approached by people I don't know about stuff related to the work I've done within the FOSS community. Blocking all unknown people would be a hassle for me and them.

I don't message people I don't know for no good reason, so why should anyone else.

And I agree "Block User" is an AWESOME feature.
