ok so where are we going with this? the poll indicates that freenode should be our server, and i think most people will agree that #linuxjunior is clearer than #ljr

so what's the hold up? when will it become 'official'?

Lovechild is contacting Stryder. If Stryder does not accept the channel, then Gorn will, and he will name ops. As far as I know, we are waiting for Stryder's response.

how long has it been since lovechild contacted him? about 2 weeks now?

just give the channel to Gorn already... at least he's a more active member than strider

gorBot used to shorten urls, like:
<gorn> look at this http://www.yahoo.com/search?q=foo&results=15
<gorBot> gorn: http://nx.mine.nu/a9D

so it can be nice for console clients to copy/paste or retype (if a URL wraps it's a real pain to copy/paste it) But it can also be annoying I guess. It's disabled now.
