how do you get new skins and get xmms to play mp3's??

You can use regular winamp skins, just drop the wsz file into your homes directory like so:

mv skin.wsz .xmms/Skins

After you dropped all your skins in to your .xmms directory press control+s and choose whichever skin you's like to use.

And as for playing mp3's, well thats more dependent on which Linux Distribituion you are running.

Download the second to last file (xmms-mp3-1.2.7-0.rhfc1.dag.i386.rpm), and install it. From the command line run:

rpm -Uvh xmms-mp3*.rpm

Restart xmms, and you should be able to mp3 files.

and it didnt work when i in stalled it the other way

Well, just for those who gonna have the same problem.

Like the message says, you need xmms version 1.2.7. If your xmms version is lower than that, you need to upgrade your xmms first. Then attempt to install the mp3 patch version.
