Sendmail not working

I get a FAILED ALARM on stopping httpd and another alarm: "cannot find quota file in /var [/dev/sdb3/] so cannot turn turn quota on/off" when restarting my RH 8.0 system.
I think this must have affected my sendmail because it stopped working. Please I need HELP

It seems as if you had assigned disk quotas to users on your /var partition at some time, or your /etc/fstab file has a "usrquota" entry for the /var partition that shouldn't be there.

Did you have quotas configured before? If so, the quota files aquota.user and aquota.group may have been deleted or corrupted.

how do i re-install those files?

You could restore them from any disk / file backups you may have.
If not. you may have to recreate them from hand. The URL explains how to do that.

Anyone out there knows how to undelete Linux files?
