I've [breifly] used dancer ircd.
What happens when you try to connect? Are you sure you are running the daemon and not just have it installed? How are you connecting? (BitchX 127.0.0.1 ? [or whatever your irc client of choice is])
Hi.
I want to set up an irc-server with the common services (NickServ, ChanServ etc.)
First i tried DarkFire but that seems to be an even more proprietary server than all others.
Then i came to check out tr-ircd and dalnets ircd. Together with ircservices 5.0.31 the project pages say it should work. However i still have problems connecting the server with the services daemon.
I am willing to check out other software or triming the existing one if there is any recommendation (or positive experience).
Chris
PS: [first post] i think this a nice little linux board[/first post]

Thanx for your reply.
No i was compiling all from source and the irc-server was running.
I think almost everything works except that kind of server<->server link used for the services process. I can connect with a few clients from localhost and from the internet and it works well. But when i try to connect the services-server to the irc-server i get message like this.
