If you want to go with knoppix wait a bit until 3.4 hits the mirrors. Should happen next week or so. It's got linux-2.6 and kde-3.2. Should be worth the wait.
Hiya all, I have been so swamped with things over the past year, work, school, Everquest etc.
I have two computers both running WinXp (Don't start on me) I want a Linux distro that can be ran without interferring with these systems. I would like to get back into Linux on the grandkid's computer so that is the reason why I don't want to disrupt the WinXp setting on his machine. He plays Tonka and Sea World Sim...
Any suggestions, I saw Koppix was a favorite here anyone have a link? I can google if necessary : )

Speaking of live distros, anyone know what happened to phlak?
http://www.phlak.org ? doesn't work.![]()
Exactly.
Freshmeat said it is currently not available for public so they maybe introducing a new version soon?
To dredge and modify a reference from the past:
8)Knoppix 8)
The best part about it is that aside from Google, Knoppix is its own best PR tool. Download the CD image for the latest version, burn it, boot it and enjoy.
You could try Gnoppix if you're looking for something Gnome-based. I hear it's not as polished as Knoppix though...not by a long shot.
