rename mp3 files to mp3 encoded names

    HI,

A friend of mine is using WinXP. He selected about 1400 mp3 files and accidentally named them all the same name. So they have name
    song
    song(1)
    song(2)
    .
    .
    .
    song(1400)

Most of the mp3's have their artist and song name encoded in the MP3. Is there an app out there that can rename the file to what is encoded in the mp3?

    Thanks,

I'm calling RIAA. Seriously, I don't know, but some of this stuff looked helpful:

I've written a script to do this before, sadly I didn't safe it.

there's some program that can read mp3 tags, it's like mp3info maybe?
like mp3info -a foo.mp3 gives the artists name, you can easily write a bash script to take care of renaming them then.
(Let me know if you need help)
