    Question on SSH and logs

The other day, a production server of mine powered down. I powered it back up, and took a look around. (Power outages are not uncommon to the room that houses the servers.) Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Tripwire didn't report anything suspicious either. However, when I rebooted, I noticed the following in my logs:

    Code:
Mar 16 14:06:02 xxxxxxx sshd2[629]: Listener created on port 22.
Mar 16 14:06:02 xxxxxxx sshd2[637]: Daemon is running.
I run SSH2 in order to administer the server remotely. It's been a while since I installed SSH. Are those two lines normal for SSH starting, or do you think it's indicative of a problem?

    Thanks.

I'll double check my logs when I get to work, but that seems absolutely normal to me.

    Well, mine says like this.
    Code:
    Thu Mar 18 21:51:50 2004: Starting Samba daemons: nmbd smbd/usr/sbin/smbd: /usr/
    Thu Mar 18 21:51:54 2004: .
Thu Mar 18 21:51:54 2004: Starting OpenBSD Secure Shell server: sshd.
Thu Mar 18 21:51:55 2004: Starting usermin: usermin.
Thu Mar 18 21:51:55 2004: Starting webmin: webmin.

    Re:Question on SSH and logs

    Thanks all.

I was just being paranoid. Tripwire didn't report anything suspicioius, and I didn't want to log in to work on the webserver and end up sending my login/password to someone because my SSH2 was trojaned.

I hadn't seen anything about trojaned SSH, but like I said, I was being paranoid.
