    favicons...

    You know what they are.. Those 16x16 pixel images that show up next to a website in your browser...

    I can't get them to work on my site ( http://www.quickfry.com )

    Anyone done this before?

    yea - its very easy, this is what i have in my web page:

    <link rel="icon" href="harris.jpg" type="image/x-icon"> 
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="harris.jpg" type="image/x-icon">
    then the icon appears in the bar and mozilla tab. does not work in ie but i don't care

    Does that need to be in <HEAD> </HEAD> somewhere, or just anywhere?

    To make it work in any browser name it favicon.ico (it has to be a real .ico file, not a renamed gif, I'm pretty sure GIMP can do this) and throw it in your document root.

    dude the src for that program on your website don't unzip...methinks it's corrupted

    Actually, the sources were zipped by the other admin of the site.. using some really weird windows app... I am going to have him send them to me and I will zip them, and make a tarball.
