    IRC Problems

    Hi all,

I have a weird problem when I try to connect to IRC. I'm using XChat, and I get this error:

I had a similar hostname error when using the java client.

Does anyine knows what might be causing it?

    Re:IRC Problems

The hostname is no big deal, but the user perameters are keeping you from getting in. In your Real Name field, add two words seperated by spaces. Some IRC servers want more info. Or just do:

    /user foo foo foo foo

    That should get you in.

If you really want the hostname lookup, you might want to setup a DNS for the IRC server to gain DNS records from.
