Thread: Modems

    Modems

I'm using Suse 9 and I'm having one hell of a time trying to setup my Lucent Winmodem. Suse detects the modem and so I install the LTmodem RPMs and try to dial out once it's configured but all I get is an error message saying that my modem failed to respond and the connect script could not be executed. I've checked out sites like linmodems and loads of other messages boards, etc, but I'm still stuck. Can you suggest anything?

Hey kez welcome to LJR ;D

I'm guess the scrip it's looking for needes its permissions set so that it is executetable so if you know what script it is you can use "chmod 755" (755 should be it) as root. And that should make it work ;D

HI, thanks for the reply and welcome. I am a total Linux newbie so I'm going to have to ask what script it should be looking for and where to put it.
