    Anybody use FinalCut Express?

I'm into video editing, but so far I have only used cheap video editing programs, such as pinnacle. FinalCut Express has a price tag of $300, and I was wondering if it was worth the money. All I ask is to be able to create a near-professional quality video without having to buy a professional editing suite, which FinalCut Pro is like $1,000. Any insight on this?

I don't use FCE but from everything I have heard it is worth it. It allows you to do everything you need to do for profesional better-than-local yet smaller-than-national editing. If your are doing something like local comercials, wedings, home movies, amature movies, etc.. it's more than enough. If you want to do nationaly syndicated comercials, independent films, high-budget things it won't work for you.

If you mean the screen size, then its the widescreen one. Also, if you want good video editing software, try Avid. They have a free version available for download.

I will see if I can get the person with the laptop described above and uses FCE here.
