Just for kicks, I put in the SuSE install disk and attempted to boot an Installed Operating Sytem.
my options were:
hda3 is where the Fedora Istall was/is...
hda1 : ntfs
hda3 : ext3
hda5 : vfat
hda6 : reiserfs
I selected had3 and got the following:
I entered 5
INIT: version 2.85 booting
INIT: No inittab file found
And that's it. This is the the same no matter what runlevel I chose.
INIT: Entering runlevel: 5
INIT: No more processes left in this runlevel
So, I booted up SuSE and went in to the /ect/grub.conf file. This is what it looks like, more or less:
Do you think I can modify this file to boot Fedora? If so, what code and where do I insert it?
root (hd0, 5)
instal ..stage2-/boot/grub/stage2 /boot/grub/stage1 d (hd0, 5) /boot/grub/stage2 0x8000
What's the prognosis?
