hi! I just installed slack and it is awesome! except for the fact that I have boot the kernel from the cd. WHy doesn't it boot from the HDD itself? Thanks! And how do i make it boot from the HDD? My default is right now KDE! How do I change it to gnome?

Can some one please help me. Don't worry about the wm manager. I got it fixed but my LILO refuses to boot the HDD! please help me!

lilo. I even checked the BIOS sequence a lot of times.:'(
It says

and the bottom:

the curson keeps blinking does that mean that the installation is over?
no, but it should say something like
Added Slackware *
where Slackware is the name of your partition, did you add any partitions to lilo?
What does your /etc/lilo.conf have in it?. You may have to edit by hand. Slackware has a great program for setting up lilo correctly on install, unfortunately it is not very inuitive. Frankly it is the only thing that ISN'T intuitive on a slack install.
Anyway after editing your lilo.conf you may have to put some arguments on lilo to get it to load to mbr--something like this I think:
lilo -M mbr
