Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

Hello, I have Mandy 10 beta 2 installed, and I can't seem to boot windows. Mandy uses lilo, and the windows entry in it looks the same as in my slack's lilo, and that works...however, whenever i try to use it, it just goes to a blank screen with just the little DOS _ blinking and never goes anywhere from that...any ideas?

Can you post the contents of your lilo.conf?

Re:Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

    Hmm...it looks good to me...

What happens if you reinstall lilo by doing

    Code:
    lilo
    ?

Re:Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

    the usual:
    Code:
    lilo
    Added linux *
    Added linux-nonfb
    Added windows
    Added floppy
    Added old_linux
    Added old_linux-nonfb
    Added 261-1
    Added failsafe
    very strange...

Re:Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

I had that happen to me once, and it was kind of a corrupt boot sector. However, I do not know if this is your case. I'd say to

A)Make a rescue disk for your system.
B)From a DOS bootdisk, do fdisk/mbr, then reboot and boot into windows.
C)Reboot into your linux rescue disk, and reinstall lilo.

Re:Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

well, i tried it, and when i was reinstalling lilo, it said lilo was trying to name the windows partition something thats not compatible with NT os's cuz it said it would cause a fatal error...

Can you type the exact error?

Re:Mandy 10 and Windows XP boot problem

    Code:
Lilo wants to assign a new Volume ID to this disk drive. However, changing the Volume ID of a Windows NT, 2000, or XP boot disk is a fatal windows error. This caution does not apply to Windows 95, 98, or NT data disks.

Is the above disk an NT boot drive?
If i hit y, then it aborts, if i install it, i get my bootloader that wont load XP
