    .tar.bz2 help

Ok, im trying to install a new Window Decoration. But i keep getting this error

"Checking for x... configure: error: Can't find x includes please check your install action and add the correct paths!"

Im kind of new to linux so i have no idea whats its telling me.
The file type the files were in is a .tar.bz2.tar

Can someone please run me throught the steps on how to fix and install this. And the correct way to extract something from a .tar.bz2.tar?

    Isn't it <something>.tar.bz2 ?

If it's, it's in bunzip form. You can un-tar it using
    Code:
    tar xvvzf <something>.tar.bz2
That will untar it and create a folder with necessary files. Try to find something like readme, install or setup instructions and follow it through.

You can also type "man tar" in terminal to see how to use tar program ( in windows world, it's winzip ).

    HTH ..

Oh next time, please say what's your question on your title instead of very generic "some help". Many of us only read titles and skip if it's not the area that they can help ( at least that's what I usually do ). I skipped your topic twice before I came back and decided to check it out ( out of boredom ).

    Re:.tar.bz2 help

    It's tar jxfv filename.tar.bz2

The z is for tar.gz files.

    Re:.tar.bz2 help

    Or try bzip2 -d myfile.tar.bz2.

That will leave you with a .tar file which you decmpress by doing

    tar -xvf myfile.tar
