    More d***fool questions/Gnome/Windowmaker

I've been using Linux (suse 9.1 pro) and now suse 9.2 pro and it's great stuff. I learned a lot but there's plenty still to learn so I've come to the Forum again for some help please.

I know my way around KDE quite well, mastered a few simple command lines. I can change sources for updates and I've got a handle on virtual consoles.

So I figure now is time to learn about other desktops like Gnome, now I've got all of Gnome installed but when I logout of KDE and select "Login as different user" from the dialogue, I come to a screen which gives me the option to login to:

    Default

    Custom

    FVWM

    KDE ( I know this one )

    TWM

    Window Maker

    admin

    Failsafe

Should Gnome be one of these? Can somebody explain these in newbie language please.

Yes GNOME should be on there, if you installed it properly. Fire up a text editor and add the following line to your ~/.xsession:

    Code:
    exec gnome-session
Add a pound sign in front of anything that may be there and just login like you usually would, don't bother choosing a different session. If you're lucky GNOME will start up.
