Ruby: I installed the .tgz for it and when I execute it in terminal, it just hangs.
Gkrellmd: Same thing as Ruby
Mondo: Installed .tgz, when executing 'mondoarchive', I receive this error 'error while loading shared libraries: libnewt.so.0.51: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory'
Frozen-Bubble: Installed .tgz, 'Can't locate fbmdkcommon.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/frozen-bubble line 43.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/frozen-bubble line 43.'
LimeWire: I attempt to install it but it tells me that I need Java VM installed, which I could of sworn I did.
Using Slackware 9.1
did you get your package from here www.linuxpackages.net ???
Yes I had
ok I dunno about gkrell and froxzen bubble but I can help with LimeWire (great app ;D)
all you have to do is edit you .bash_profile in you home directory
open up the CLI and type <text editor here> .bash_profile and change it so it looks like this
logout and restart the xserver (ctrl-alt-del) and in the CLI type in "which java" and it should work. If not change this "usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/bin" to whereever you put it , and it should workCode:# .bash_profile # Get the aliases and functions if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then . ~/.bashrc fi # User specific environment and startup programs PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/bin export PATH unset USERNAME![]()
CLI? .bash_profile? ???
CLI = Command Line Instercafe ;D
the .bash_profile is just a file. so once you open the CLI your already in your home folder![]()
Wow, I've never been so confused in my life. @_@
You'll have to explain to me what you want me to do
ok.
1. Open the CLI
2. type in "<your text editor> .bash_profile
3. add this line to the par that says "PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:" and add "/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/bin" so it will look like the one I posted earlier.
4. logout and restart the xserver (crtl-alt-del)
5.open the CLI and type in "which java" if it says /usr/java..." then it works.
If not change the /usr/java.." to the current location of it and repeat step 4
thats all you need to do.
