any luck with this schotty?
I didnt see this issue at all ever with Red Hat, nor on SuSE. But the damn USB mice I have are going to hell on me, and from what I can see, its not the mice, not X (directly) but the USB subsystem. Any tips on fixing them?
Sofar my resolution (with about 70% success rate) is to replug the mouse in. Kinda sucks to do this so frequently.
Dumped Gentoo for Libranet, which has the issue as well.
NO but it is definitely software related. Other USB devices werent being treated well either. Namely my CDRW drive, camera, and joystick.
Those arent the only distros I am sure that failed, but oddly any older Red Hat works fine, as does an ancient Mandrake, SUSE 8, Ark (that distro is looking like a Mandrake/SuSE killer), and Knoppix.
I am not sure what it is, but as soon as I reburn FC1, I will return to that. I had my fun distro whoring, but when it all comes down -- FC/Red Hat just work out of the box the best right now for me.
I am debating trying to take a stock Mandrake kernel config and a stock Red Hat kernel config and see what the diffs are. I am really curious as to why the damn system apparently is not doing USB right in the slightest.
