Printer Installation Dramas

I know that I have sucked a lot of help from people here so far, but I have my new printer half installed now, and it's still not working.

I have installed a brother HL 5040 using CUPS, but It just doesn't print.

The test page fron CUPS gives me an error that permission to the web page is denied - so I have tried with the open office word processor - nothing as well.

Having set up the printer under CUPS is there anything else I should be looking for?

I have visited printer installation pages for the past two days now before posting this question - so please don't think that I havn't tried to exercise my own ability to research first.

HEY ALL - DON'T WORRY - I RETURNED IT AND BOUGHT AN EPSON AND IT WORKS FINE FIRST TIME.
