    The Visible Host Name

I am a very new Linux learner, and would like to ask two questions as following:

    1. Which command can I use to set the "visible_hostname" or please tell me how I can set "visible_hostname servername" ?

    2. Which command I can use to edit the squid.conf?

    Thank you in advance.

    hi quan,

first of all you need to study how to use vi editor, there are some text editor but vi is one of the most commonly used, then try to edit your squid.conf.

    # vi /etc/squid/squid.conf

    Re:

    Dear quan,
    Salam,

You can see your host name from differnet commands.

    # hostname

    OR

    # cat /etc/hosts

and you can use any good editors

    # pico /etc/squid/squid.conf

    OR

    # vi /etc/squid/squid.conf

    Best Regards.
